Trump Says Blue States Will ‘Totally Disappear Off The Map’ Next Year, Promises ‘Big, Big Surprise’

Former President Donald Trump has hinted at a major political shake-up in the 2026 midterm elections, boldly suggesting that blue states might “totally disappear off the map.”

Challenging the usual expectation that the party in power loses congressional seats during midterms, Trump expressed confidence that Republicans would maintain control of the federal government.

Speaking at the Republican Governors Association, he stated, “I think the midterms are going to be a big, big surprise.” While historically, the president’s party struggles in midterms, Trump believes the GOP’s popularity will defy that trend.

Trump’s Strategy: Fundraising and Political Influence

Trump highlighted his campaign’s financial strength, boasting about raising $608 million. He made it clear that this money would be used to support his allies, warning, “The red states are going to do good, and the blue states, I don’t know, maybe they’ll totally disappear off that map.”

A recent CBS News poll found that voters view Trump as “tough,” “energetic,” “focused,” and “effective.” Meanwhile, the Cook Political Report gives Republicans a strong chance of holding the Senate in 2026, while Democrats need to flip four seats to regain control.

With Republicans holding a narrow three-seat majority in the House, party leaders are strategizing to maintain their grip on Congress. Rep. Richard Hudson, chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, emphasized Trump’s role in the effort: “Trump — he’s still here… He’s an incredible partner for us.”

Reshaping Government and Targeting Key Issues

Despite being unable to run for president again, Trump has continued fundraising, amassing $608 million in just three weeks. “Can you believe that?” he joked. He assured supporters that these funds would be used to back Republican candidates and advance his political agenda.

Trump has already begun reshaping federal policies, cutting programs related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as gender discrimination protections. His focus remains on reducing government spending and tightening border security.

Taking aim at Democrats, Trump criticized their stance on cultural issues, particularly gender in sports. “I say we become the party of common sense,” he declared. “Men in women’s sports is not a winner for them.”

With a massive war chest and strong party support, Trump’s influence on the 2026 elections is undeniable. Whether his predictions come true remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—he’s not backing down.
