Tesla Takedown: Tesla store in New York gets taken over by Musk protesters, 9 people arrested

A Tesla store in New York City became the site of a major protest against Elon Musk, forcing a disruption in operations.

In recent weeks, a growing movement known as “Tesla Takedown” has gained momentum, organizing grassroots demonstrations at Tesla stores worldwide.

This weekend saw a surge in protests, with some attracting significant crowds.

One of the largest turnouts was at Tesla’s Tucson location, where hundreds gathered in opposition (via Andy Flach).

Protests escalate, leading to arrests

While most demonstrations have remained peaceful and within legal boundaries, a few incidents have escalated beyond that.

At Tesla’s Manhattan store today, a group of protesters managed to enter the building, leading to operational issues.

Approximately 300 people participated in the demonstration, with the majority staying outside in peaceful protest. However, a small group forced their way inside, prompting Tesla employees to close the store as more attempted to enter.

Authorities confirmed that nine individuals were arrested, though specific charges remain unclear at this time.

Footage from the aftermath shows apparent damage to glass doors and windows, though the full extent remains uncertain.

With similar protests taking place in major U.S. cities, more demonstrations are expected in the coming weeks.
